Which of Our Two Vacation Homes Is Right for Your Trip?

We have two homes, and while they share the same Citrus Hills setting, each suits a different kind of trip.

Both are in the Citrus Hills golf community in Hernando, Florida, about seven miles inland from Crystal River on Florida’s Nature Coast. Both are quiet, fully furnished, well lit, and set up so you can arrive, settle in, and start enjoying your stay.

The difference really comes down to how you like to travel.

The Cottage

Two bedrooms, two baths, a large living area, a workstation in the master bedroom, and a comfortable lanai overlooking the heated community pool.

The Cottage is a great fit if you’re traveling as a couple or on your own, escaping winter for some Florida sun, working remotely and need a proper place to sit down with fast Wi-Fi, or visiting in July for scalloping.

It’s also a comfortable choice if you’re visiting family in the area and want somewhere calm to come back to at the end of the day.

Think of The Cottage as a private, bright, easy home base. Close to everything, in the middle of nothing.

The Golf and Pool Home

Three bedrooms, two baths, on the golf course at the end of a cul-de-sac.

The screened private pool has a fully furnished lanai, gathering area, and fire pit. Full-height sliding glass doors bring plenty of daylight into the living space, and the spacious rooms give everyone room to spread out.

This is the home for a group: a family reunion, friends reconnecting after too long, a golf trip, or a family with children who plan to spend most of the day in the pool. It’s also the one to choose if you’re traveling with a pet. When we know a four-legged guest is coming, we leave treats.

Sitting by that pool while golfers pass by is, to us, one of the most pleasant parts of the day.

A Simple Way to Choose

Choose The Cottage if your trip is smaller and quieter — a couple, a solo stay, a laptop, a heated community pool nearby, and the freedom to set your own pace.

Choose the Golf and Pool Home if your trip is about being together — more space to spread out, a pool of your own, a fire pit in the evening, and golf close by.

Either way, you’re close to the same things that make this part of Florida special: shopping and street fairs, walking and cycling trails, nature preserves, spring-fed rivers, kayaking and paddleboarding at Homosassa Springs, swimming with the manatees, dinner in Crystal River, and golf courses within reach.

What Is True of Both

Both homes have full kitchen appliances, upgraded furnishings, keyless entry, and fast Wi-Fi. Both come with starter coffee and tea, generous starter toiletries, and filtered water.

Both offer early check-in and late check-out at no extra cost whenever we can manage it.

Neither is a party house. There isn’t much nightlife nearby, and we don’t allow parties. If that’s what your trip needs, we’d rather say so now than have you find out after you arrive.

Still Not Sure?

Tell us who’s coming and what you hope to do, and we’ll tell you honestly which home fits — even if the answer is neither.

We’d rather help you choose the right stay than simply make a booking.
