When people picture a slower week, a fair question comes up: will there be enough to do, and is a quiet neighborhood a compromise?
Here is the honest answer, with what the house actually is, so you can decide for yourself.
Who this home suits
We set the Golf and Pool Home up for a few kinds of stays. Families and old friends who want everybody under one roof — three bedrooms, two baths, a sofa bed, a playroom, room for eight. Golfers who want a base near the courses. People who work remotely for part of the week. And guests visiting family nearby in Citrus Hills who would rather have their own quiet place to come back to.
We are not the right fit for everyone. There are no parties here, and there is not much nightlife in the immediate area. If that is what the trip is for, another house will serve you better.
How the days tend to go
Mornings are slow. There are ceiling fans in all seven rooms, coffee in the kitchen — K-cups, packets and drip — filtered water, and starter toiletries so nobody has to shop on day one.
Afternoons are usually the pool. It is private and screened, with a furnished lanai beside it, so you are not sharing it with anyone.
Evenings are the part I like. A full kitchen means dinner happens when you are hungry rather than when a table is free, and the living space is big enough for everybody to stay in the same room afterward.
The practical bits are handled: keyless touchpad entry, Wi-Fi in the house, four smart TVs for your own streaming, and a guidebook with the codes and the local information in it. Most guests follow their own plan and rarely need to call us.
What is nearby, and what you arrange yourself
There is golf in and around Citrus Hills, bike trails, boat tours out of Dunnellon and the springs at Crystal River, where people go to see manatees. Golf access and tee times are booked with the courses directly, not through us — worth checking before you travel if a round is the point of the trip.
An unhurried week is a choice about your own itinerary, not a promise about how busy the area will be. What we can promise is a house set up so that choosing it is easy.
